So often when we talk about permission to feel your feelings, the automatic assumption is that you're feeling HARD feelings.

Grief, sadness, frustration, anger, overwhelm, etc, etc, etc.

And I DO want you to feel ALL of those emotions. As someone who didn't always give myself permission to stop and feel those hard feelings, I can tell you now that it's WAY better to let them flow through you instead of shoving them down and ignoring them.

But I don't want to talk about those hard feelings today.

Today, I want to talk about giving yourself permission for JOY.

And wonder, serenity, awe, delight, pleasure, elation, jubilance, revelry, tranquility, and whatever other fun-loving happy emotion you're experiencing!

You get to feel all those feelings, too! You get to wrap yourself in them and feel them down in your soul, letting the positivity surge through you.

I realized recently I've been holding back some joy from you. I think it comes through in the pictures I post on social media, but when I share about topics, it's usually about the challenges.

And I want to talk about the challenges! I want for us to have real conversations about real things. It's so important that this grounded wildness community is a place you can show up just as you are, no type of performing needed.

But here's the thing...that performing extends to dampening joy as well.

And I don't want to perform any part of my life.

I feel joy and wonder all the time. Like, daily.

I feel it when I'm on the hiking tail and I come across a blooming cactus or a patch of wild irises.

I feel it when I'm having a great conversation with a friend, laughing over the game Throw, Throw Burrito (which, seriously, if you want to induce joy, play that ridiculous game!), singing and playing the guitar, enjoying a cup of Lady Gray tea, and a million other little ways.

The warm pudding feeling starts in my chest and emanates through my entire body, sending joy everywhere.

This is real. Just like the hard stuff is real.

A lot of the messages I hear in the personal development world are either "Life is always hard, so let's get real about that" OR "Life is always amazing as long as you keep your thoughts positive! You can manifest anything!"

Neither one is accurate. Instead, LIFE IS BOTH.

There are times and seasons and situations when life is hard. And there are times and seasons and situations filled with absolute and total joy.

Let's feel it all.

So go ahead. Give yourself full permission to fill up your soul with joy. Stop and and notice the sunset today. Smell the blooming flower in your yard. Laugh, really LAUGH, when something is funny. Dance to your favorite song. Sing in the car.

Let it all go and feel JOY.
