What People are Saying About Grounded Wildness:

A powerful reminder that we all have parts of ourselves that we hide away, sometimes without even realizing it. “Grounded Wildness” is about unhiding, rediscovering the parts of ourselves that we’ve buried deep, and allowing them to flourish.
— Ruth Rathblott, MSW, TedX Speaker, and author of "Singlehandedly: Learning to Unhide & Embrace Connection"
A must-read for every woman swimming perfectionism, pleasing, and performing, and who is looking for the permission to be her wildest, most beautiful self.
— Sharon Podobnik, Founder of The Center for Conscious Leadership, and author of "It's Not (All) Your Fault"
Grounded Wildness is a roadmap for women who are ready to ditch the suffocating rules that have kept them small – and can’t wait to reclaim their freedom.
— Gaby Natale, Triple Daytime EMMY winning journalist, speaker, and bestselling author
On the recommendation of a friend I purchased Grounded Wildness, while holding out plenty of skepticism. I tend to think I ignore most of society’s rules because it’s how I am wired, but this book helped me see where (in fact) I am being nudged to color in the lines, even when I don’t notice the nudge! One of the things I didn’t expect and really appreciated was the way the author made her point while acknowledging that one person’s true self may not jive with someone else’s...one example was the way one woman may find incredible grounding in staying home and managing her family’s life and house, while another may not. So often I see that we are told HOW to be which is framed in opposition to X, Y, or Z...but this book didn’t do that which I absolutely loved (both because that’s kind, but also because it reminds me that no one lines up to judge you and your choices). Lots of great take homes in the book—glad I listened to my friend!
— Amazon Review
As someone who does not self identify as a perfectionist I was shocked to realize how much of my thinking and doing was centered on the rules and suggestions of culture around me (thanks late 30s!). It’s one thing to recognize that truth, it’s entirely different to really shed that thinking/that way of living. It’s hard and there’s no path and even fewer places to turn for some ideas on how to live by your own design.

Grounded Wildness felt like the map to go with my inner compass. It helped me know, name and love my most wild parts, then gave me a loving nudge to pursue those places wholeheartedly. It was a call to get out of my head and into my body.

I’m grateful for everything I’ve gotten from this book the first time around and look forward to revisiting in the future when I need a reminder to of how to let my inner compass lead the way.

This book makes me feel not so alone in the things I’m going through: trying to honor what I want for my life and honestly evaluating the power of other people’s wants for me. This book made me think about the SHOULDS that other people hand us all the time: what we should do, not do, how to work, be, by what age, blah, blah, blah. Thank you for the permission to make my own set of rules. I plan to use this book with clients and girlfriends feeling the same!

What People are Saying About Overachiever’s Guide to Breaking the Rules:

Watch out overachievers, this author is calling you our with enjoyable exercises to recover from the overdoing and the perfectionism. Very relevant self-helper with a different recovery approach to joy.
— Next Generation Indie Book Awards Judge's review
The book speaks to so many of the challenges women face with overdoing and perfectionism and people-pleasing – and how to let them go and live life on your own terms... Heather uses her own experiences, with well written stories, to demonstrate the impact of perfectionism. She outlines ways to make subtle changes in your thinking, that will translate into powerful behavioral change. It’s had a huge impact on my life since reading it and I am much happier as a result. It is worth it to read or listen to the book to gain insight and tools in order to live life to the fullest.
— Michele E., Amazon Review
I started this book a few months ago and had stopped because I wanted to do the reflections at the end of the chapter and kept telling myself I didn’t have time so I couldn’t continue. Talk about overachiever and needing to let go of perfect. I started it back up and decided to give myself a break and just let me read the book and I am so happy that I did. I loved the book, the stories helped me to understand how I did things like that in my life all the time. It was so great to not feel alone in pushing myself and the pressure that I felt. There are so many tips and tricks to help you grow as a person. I plan on reading it again and making time for the exercises, I think I will get much more out of them having read through the book once already. I think this will become a dog eared, overly used book in the very near future.
— Amazon Review
There were so many pieces of Heather’s life that easily reflect my own. This made her book very relatable and I personally know many “over achievers” who would also strongly relate to the authors narrative. This book is far beyond “self help”, (although it does that too!). It really has the reader take a deeper look as to why they feel the need to be the best. The book is sprinkled with many short activities and questions to help the reader focus their attention and INtention of the importance of slowing down and finding joy. This is what resonated with me the most. That it is MORE than ok to not be perfect all the time, but it in many cases, it is absolutely necessary to live a joyful life.
— Kristin L., Amazon Review
Once I started this book, I didn’t want to put it down! The stories and examples the author uses to illustrate her points are so compelling and real. The self-reflection exercises throughout the book were easy to do AND they also brought me to a deeper level of self-awareness. I had several “AHA” moments while reading this book that have had a huge impact on my personally. More importantly, I learned tools that I can use every day to slow down, reconnect to myself, rediscover my creativity, create better boundaries, and stay in the present moment. I highly recommend this book to everyone!
